Active substance
100 g of gel contains: thick extract of: chamomile flower, calendula flower, coltsfoot leaf, oak bark, sage leaf, thyme herb (Extractum spissum (6-12:1) ex: Matricariae anthodio 2.0 parts, Calendulae anthodio 0.5 parts, Farfarae folio 1.4 parts, Quercus cortice 3.0 parts, Salviae folio 2.0 parts, Thymi herba 1.0 parts (extractants: 90% methanol [v/v], water) – 10.0 g; allantoin (Allantoinum) – 0.1 g; chamomile essential oil (Matricariae aetheroleum) – 0.3 g; peppermint essential oil (Menthae piperitae aetheroleum) – 0.3 g. Excipients: lidocaine hydrochloride, sodium benzoate E211, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, bronopol, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate E214, purified water.
Indications
Topically as an astringent, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial agent, as well as a local anesthetic that accelerates granulation and wound healing. The medication is intended for local application on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity as a traditionally used supportive agent in the treatment of periodontal diseases and inflammatory conditions of the oral cavity (e.g., pressure sores from dental prostheses). After periodontal surgical procedures, the product can only be used with the indications of a dentist.
Dosage and administration
Mucosit is intended for traditional use in the mentioned indications.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to local anesthetics or other components of the medication. People with allergies to birch pollen or celery may have cross-sensitivity to thyme. The product should also not be used if hypersensitivity to plants from the Asteraceae family, such as chamomile, or the Lamiaceae family, is diagnosed.
