Arcalen® is traditionally used for various types of minor post-traumatic conditions to facilitate and accelerate the resorption of small subcutaneous hemorrhages (bruises), as well as for swelling resulting from mechanical injuries, such as contusions. The ointment is also traditionally used for muscle pain after sports training and for massage.
It is believed that the ingredients in Arcalen ointment have anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant effects, reduce the permeability of capillary walls, and have a beneficial effect on peripheral circulation. As a result of reduced capillary permeability, swelling and inflammation are reduced, thereby alleviating pain.
